Patricia A. Celano
Ms. Celano has over 20 years of experience in bankruptcy and insolvency counseling, corporate restructuring and aggressively enforcing creditors' rights on behalf of public and private clients. She represents clients in all stages of bankruptcy cases, as well as in out-of court settlements, workouts and business transactions. Ms. Celano also has extensive experience in the areas of contract, shareholder disputes, asset recovery, Consumer Fraud Act litigation, as well as private corporation and partnership disputes regarding ownership and control, including valuations through mediation or arbitration, collection and foreclosure.
Ms. Celano has represented secured lenders, trustees, governmental entities, creditors’ committees, unsecured creditors, Chapter 11 debtors, shareholders, investors, purchasers of assets, defendants in preference actions, landlords and tenants in bankruptcy cases, and plan proponents in all aspects of the bankruptcy case, including negotiation and litigation.
Representative Cases: Ms. Celano represented Chapter 11 debtor General Ceramics, Inc. (NJ Case No. 99-33403) in which unsecured trade creditors were paid 100%of their allowed claims upon confirmation.
Ms. Celano served as counsel to Hackensack University Medical Center and TOURO University College of Medicine in a joint venture purchasing the real estate and equipment of Chapter 11 debtor Pascack Valley Hospital Association and an affiliate for $53,150,000.
